We finally bought a condo on the island. The prices here finally started to show the pressure of the recession and we wore out two realtors and numerous assistants before finding the deal that we wanted.
It is a 2 year old, 2 bedroom unit on the second floor of a complex with 4 units. We had hoped for a garage but they come at a $40,000 premium on the island that we just could not justify. The complex has a small pool and a small balcony at the entrance and one of the master bedroom.
The deal closes on Dec 18 and Jude has already planned for Christmas dinner on the 25th with 14 friends. We will likely only stay in the units for the last 2 weeks we are here in April since it is rented for Jan. and Feb. and we already have the trailer down here. We will then rent it all of next summer and start using it ourselves in November next year.
